WHAT IS CROSSFIT?
With constantly varied movements and activities CrossFit® is not just another boring gym fad,
CrossFit® is a state of mind, a philosophy and a lifestyle.
Regardless of a person’s past athletic experience or current level of fitness, everyone is introduced into the CrossFit world by learning the basic techniques, terminology, pre-workout warm ups and exercises before participating in regular CrossFit classes. These are our Kick-Off classes where our trainers teach you the movements safely over two sessions, at a cost of $225.
We have a team of experienced trainers onsite to help you through every stage of your CrossFit training. Our coaches are CrossFit L1 and L2 certified, holding qualifications in personal training, fitness, weightlifting and first aid. Always ready to motivate and offer advice, our team will motivate and train you to get in the greatest shape of your life!
Bruce is the owner / operator of Platform CrossFit. He brings 5+ years of experience as a CrossFit Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach to the box plus Bruce holds a CrossFit Level 2 trainer qualification as well from AWF (Australian Weightlifting Federation) Level 2 Weightlifting Coach in addition to CrossFit Certifications in Kettlebell, gymnastic and CrossFit Kids. Bruce is a huge believer in having fun while you work out so you will often hear some terrible “Dad” jokes.
Dirk stumbled upon CrossFit through the barefoot running scene and was hooked from his first metcon. He went on to gain his Level 1 trainer qualification and was a founding coach at Platform CrossFit. Dirk holds a Certificate III and IV in Fitness and is also a CrossFit Gymnastic Certified Trainer. Dirk has worked as a professional Engineer in the oil & gas industry for the past 15 years and has made health and fitness very much a part of his life. Dirk enjoys sharing the fitness knowledge he has gained to help others.
Alecka completed her CrossFit L1 trainers course in 2013, followed closely by her Certificate III & IV in Health and Fitness in 2014. Amongst her busy schedule Alecka coaches swimming at Beatty Park Masters Swimming Club & Tuart Hill Swimming Club. Alecka has worked as a Paramedic since 2005 and is currently lecturing in the Paramedical Science Course at ECU. Health and fitness has been a huge part of her life and she loves to help others achieve their own goals in this area, in particular to help prevent chronic injury and illness.
MEMBER SERVICES MANAGER
Leanne is the Member Services Manager at Platform CrossFit. She brings a huge amount of customer services experience to the box. Leanne is a firm believer of having fun in the gym and will often bust out a dance WOD to get a smile. Leanne enjoys building the relationships in Platforms community and organizes many of the social events at the box.
Since joining Platform Crossfit 2.5 years ago, I am the fittest and strongest I have ever been. I am a 46 year old who has been a gym member since the early 90’s and tried everything from pump classes to triathlons. Platform Crossfit is the most enjoyable and effective program I’ve ever undertaken.
